Race Point Lighthouse will be open for visitors to tour the lighthouse
only on designated Saturdays from May through September. The lighthouse
will be open from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

Portsmouth Harbor Lights - New Castle, NH

Visitors
are invited to climb to the top of the tower to get a magnificent view of
Portsmouth
Harbor
and the surrounding area, as well as a close-up look at the active fourth
order Fresnel lens. There is a suggested donation of $2 for adults
and $1
for children. Flat shoes are strongly recommended.

Wood Island Lighthouse - Biddeford Pool, ME

Tours to Wood Island Lighthouse for 2009:
Island trips take place in July
and August subject to Mother Nature
and her weather and sea conditions.
The
tours leave from Vines Landing in Biddeford Pool aboard the Friends of Wood
Island Lighthouse boat
Light Runner.
The boat
is a compact, flat bottom boat which will accommodate

18 visitors. The front drops down for easy egress. The tours take about 1
1/2 hours and include a cruise to and from the island, and about a half mile
walk on a raised
wooden boardwalk to the lighthouse itself. The tour is led by a guide who
tells visitors about the history of Wood Island, its inhabitants, the keeper
families, the beacon itself and much more. Visitors tour the inside of
the dwelling house, the bottom of the tower, the oil house and grounds.

tower might be closed on rainy days or if there are no volunteers
available. There is no charge to climb the tower but donations are
appreciated. Fees may apply for
off-season openings.
Pemaquid
Point Lighthouse is located in the grounds of Lighthouse Park, which is
managed by the Town of
Bristol. There is an admission charge to

Owls Head Lighthouse - Owls Head, ME

Thanks to the efforts of the Friends of Rockland
Breakwater Lighthouse volunteers, Owls Head Lighthouse is now open to the
public for tours.
Owls Head Lighthouse will be open each Wednesday in August (5th, 12th,
19th & 26th) from 1:00 to 5:00 pm.
Additional open house dates & times will be added through
October 15th, please call the American Lighthouse Foundation office at
207-594-4174 for information on upcoming times not listed.

Little River Lighthouse hosts a few Open Houses during
the summer so that the general public can visit and view the lighthouse
and enjoy the restoration work that has been accomplished.
As part of the open houses FLRL will provide a boat ride
to the island from Cutler Harbor. Refreshments will be

No reservations necessary, simply meet us
at the public boat ramp in Cutler Maine. Last trip departs for the island at
